About us
Our Story
Established in 2018, New Zealand Native Honey Products and RāKiwi is a labour of love for Gisborne-raised founder Brendan Shivnan, in partnership with Joe Harris, design guardian of the business, plus, our trusted network of independent bee-keepers across New Zealand.
Sustainability & Partnerships
We are committed to delivering quality honey products to our customers while having a positive impact on our people and the planet. We build partnerships with Māori-owned businesses and measure our impact through the Toha Network, working closely with remote communities to help them thrive partnering with the East Coast Exchange. Each purchase supports the planting of native forests on the East Coast of Aotearoa New Zealand, where the sun greets the world each dawn.
We take pride in gifting 2% of our yearly revenue to native tree reforestation, helping restore nature and give back what history has taken.
Quality Production
Our honey is carefully packed in HAACP-certified facilities, ensuring top-tier safety and purity. From harvest to packaging, strict measures prevent contamination, meeting the highest food safety standards. Our commitment to excellence guarantees a superior product for our customers' enjoyment and trust.
UMF Certification
UMF™ is the only quality and rating system that independently certifies the presence and quality of all factors that make New Zealand mānuka honey unique, ensuring you get honey that meets your needs.
